Shock Decision by Food Festival Directors

At the beginning of the month the directors of the festival announced that “The Emsworth Food Festival will not take place in 2008 to ensure that a variety of issues are addressed…”.  Have they lost the plot?  The Food Festival has put Emsworth on the map and has helped to regenerate the town.  Support for the festival at the public wash-up meeting in October was overwhelming so why decide to cancel the 2008 festival?

Can not understand this decision. Everyone I’ve spoken to thinks that it is a bad idea and some wonder if the festival will ever come back! The festival must generate a huge amount of business for the village not just at the time but also from returning visitors throughout the year.

It seems to me that this is a totally wrong and misguided decision and I for one will most certainly miss what has been a thoroughly enjoyable weekend for the past seven years.

EMSWORTH FOOD FESTIVAL.

WE WANT A REFERENDUM ON WHETHER THE 2008 SHOW GOES AHEAD.

Reading about the Alternative ‘A Thought for Food’ it is PERHAPS cynical to wonder whether the Chairman of EFF was ‘’slightly’ swayed in the decision not to have an EFF in 2008 by the knowledge of the offer of a job with the ‘Alternative’ setup.
If so, who is going to be the next chairman IF the EFF returns in 2009?
Perhaps she will be too busy in 2009 as well.
